Hella H4 and Relay Upgrade

Just installed Hella H4's with the 55w/60w bulbs a week or so ago, then I got to worrying about the slight current increase through the headlight and dimmer switches. Not wanting to replace all the wiring, I installed 2 relays that take the signals from the fuse block for the low and high beams and used those lines to control the relays. Then I took a heavier wire from the battery, through the relay contacts and back to fuse block. This keeps the car's fuses and wiring out to the headlights intact. I know this won't allow me to run much higher wattage bulbs, but at least I've isolated the headlight and dimmer switches from all the high current and potential burn-out. It's cheap insurance, and I can restore the originality very quickly without a trace if needed.
Everything fitted very nicely and neatly next to fuse panel.
