HF CIS Tester Help
I am using the HF Master kit and the first time i used it, it seemed to work well, but then the 2nd time I used it reading were all the same so I thought there was a block some where.
I then read all of the post that stated to use this kit you should pull all of the schrader valves, so I did that and now there is no pressure reading at all. I bought a 2nd kit thinking there was something wrong with the tester and before the first use removed all of the valves. After bleeding the air out, same thing, no reading on the gauge. Even with the T closed. Any ideas? Thanks.

UPDATE: When I remove the bleeder block and hoses from the T, and connect the gauge directly to the T, I get a reading of only 18 PSI with the valve closed.
However when I then open the ball valve, I am not getting gas out of the other end. This is not making any sense.

In putting the schrader valves back in to the T to the gauge and one back in the fitting to the WUR I was able to obtain a few readings.
Cold control pressure was showing 21 psi and system seems low at 50 psi. How are you guys using the HF set up w/o the valves in place?

By pulling the valves, do you mean the guts of the valve? I just used small needle nose pliers to unscrew the inner piece of the schrader valve but still used the quick connection pieces.

Yes, used a needle nose to unscrew the pins. Kept the quick connection pieces in place.
If I remove all of those and remove the gauge, I can get gas out of the T with the ball valve closed. If I put the gauge back on the T and open the ball valve, no gas out the end to the WUR. Only after screwing the pins back in would I get pressure readings and gas out the other end.

I bought a HF CIS tester and it was utter crap. On the first one, the inner lining of the hose came apart and clogged the line. Little bits of black plastic coming out helped me figure that out. I returned that one and the 2nd one leaked badly on the block at the bleeder button. Oring was shredded inside.
Shader valves had to be out to get the correct pressures, too. Garbage...

I noticed that too on the first one. Black plastic pieces. What a disappointment.
Now I don't know if the 2nd one is working right or not then. Quote:

HF used to have a pressure kit that said "Not for CIS" They also had a CIS kit. Now I see there is only a Master Kit. If you are getting pressures, keep doing what you are doing. Do you have the pressure graph? Most graphs I see using Google Advanced show around 5 bar for the SC and 6 bar for the 930. (low 70's / high 80's) I can't find the 78 930 graph though.

Thanks bob.
I have a book on testing cis and it has appropriate ranges in there. The question I have is the car is an SC so it only has one fuel pump, but I have a 930 cis on it (930 wur) so I am cross referencing both specs. |

Just the 930 WUR reg or do you literally have the entire 930 injection system?

OK.
The SC fuel pump delivers 100 psi before it gets adjusted back to system pressure. I believe the fuel distributor does this but I am not absolutely certain. Can you tap in at the accumulator to test what the fuel pump is putting out? I don't think the accumulator adjusts pressure. Believe it is a shock absorber for FP delivery variances and then forces your system to hold rest pressure when car switched off. If you can do it before the accumulator and that would isolate my ignorance of the accumulator from the procedure. Others would have done this in more recent history than me. Best wait for them. Still pretty sure shims in the FD control system pressure.
