fuel or oil flap-1972
I have a flap (or filler door) that came from my 72, during body panel replacement. I am not sure which type it is. It has been a long time and I cannot remember which panel it came from. The PET reference indicates that there are different part numbers for each. Is there a way to tell them apart? Thanks.

I believe the oil door has an open loop for the catch whereas the fuel door has a hook type catch, as seen in your photo. Also, the oil flap has two parallel ribs/arms running lengthwise from the ends of the hinge to nearly the catch. What you have appears to be a fuel door.
Here's a picture of an oil door
