Respected independent Porsche service shops in Miami area?
For Porsche dealerships, I know of Braman and Champion Porsche. What about popular independent shops? That is really what I'm looking for...
Please list any you know of and the location (e.g., Miami, W. Palm Beach, etc.). Thank you, Lance. |

There are two that I know of. One is Richard Danvers Automotive Inc. and the other one is Butch Stokes Automotive Inc. They are a few blocks from each other in Pembroke Park which is a small town between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. Both work on Porsches and nothing else.

I just had Gulf Performance in Pompano Beach do a remote PPI for me. Felix is VERY honorable. Another guy that looked at the car called him to get the PPI info & he told him to get lost. He felt that I had contracted for it & only I deserved the results. Since the results were very good, I might have lost the car . . . bravo Felix!

My vote goes with Butch Stokes and Foreign Affairs both good and honest.
I would avoid Vertex and Scott Finlay of Miami. - Just go ahead and try to sue me!!!! ![]() Ben

Ben,
I agree with your assessment to avoid Vertex for service, although they are good for parts if you are local. What happened with $cot Finlay? A friend of mine who had a 993 joked that $cot Finlay would find out what the dealer was charging for services and knock off 5% to determine his rates.

Danvers... excellent but moved to mid-Florida. Stokes is $$$$. No comment on Vertex or Finlay---have used them both.
Suggest best quality work and most sensibly priced is Miami Porsche Service and Repair ... Have used GP for 12 years --- never an issue, ever.

+1 for Gulf in Pompano. I had Vince do a PPI for me. I would definitely recommend Gulf.

Hahaha, I love how everyone is either on Bird Road or South, or Hollywood and North. It's like the area I live is in No Man's Land.

I have been to quite a few Porsche Repairs shop and here is my input,
$cott Finley is the best mechanic in South FL but very expensive even for general maintenance. I don"t trust Foreign Affairs, and I do not believe their flawless reviews since I gave them a bad review on Yelp and it was removed. They thought I did not know much about cars and gave me an estimate of thousands of dollars that other other shops said did not need to be done, They could be legit but I left with a bad feeling. Another key indicator is why are they not working on just Porsches but BMW, Mercedes, etc. They do market themselves well and the owner is on the E Board of Gold Coast Porsche of South FL Stokes is good for oil changes and small maintenance I am not sure how well he would perform a major maintenance job since he has a small operation. I have been to Gulf several times and they generally do good work but its common to have your car tied up for a week. In 2007 they partially fixed the AC on my 1993 air cooled 911, but once I took it to Finlay it was dome right but the charge was an arm and a leg. I only went to Champion for free oil changes and checks. I see its been a while since anyone commented on this board, I would welcome anyone to provide feedback on Independent Porsche Repair shops. WPB and Coral Springs are too far since I am in Hollywood. I have heard things about Parkhause in Miami but I am not too familiar with them |
