What Kind of Sport Muffler is This?

Hello All,
Wondering if anyone can provide more information on this particular bischoff sport muffler? Setup is a single in, dual out, dated 10/87. Part #930.111.043.00

The only thing I can find somewhat similar is a Euro twintip, which was used on 930 euro. I thought for a minute someone modified a stock muffler but the welds are too good and look quite factory.

This muffler was removed from a 1980sc with cat bypass, pretty loud but would likely be a bit better with cat or premuffler. Notch in bottom of forward of muffler tells me it will also fit carrera 3.2.

Any information would be greatly appreciated, I have never seen one like it(i know sometimes thats not always good) and am not quite sure what I have here. Also if anyone is interested, feel free to contact me.

Thanks for looking,
Tom

I first checked part number and Found same information, with no luck. There is another stamp shown in photo with 911/2-2 with a welded tag below it showing what looks like a swirled "G" followed by 2-2. The previous owner said it was a gemballa muffler but I never believed him, could that be correct?

Seems you have a rare part from Gemballa, here is a pic from a Gemballa 911 Turbo Mirage from back in the 80's. This one show this particular muffler, but there was a variation with 3 tips.

I would keep this muffler if I was you, but that is something for you to decide. Good luck!

Definitely Gemballa. If you reinstall, put up a video so we can hear the sound. I'm maybe interested in it, but would like to hear it first. No clue of value to offer, either.

It's 2 stock turbo tailpipes welded on a stock Carrera muffler. I would think the only value would be to someone restoring a Gemballa that needs that muffler. Needle in a haystack finding that guy.

Thanks for the replies, I am doing some sheetmetal repair on my 86 at the moment and the fuel tank is out. Once I get her together I will put the muffler on and get some sound clips, happy to be heading in the right direction with figuring this out. Great to hear its actually a Gemballa piece!

thanks again
