3.2 carrera runs poor with 02 sensor plugged in
I replaced my old 02 sensor with a factory new one and my car still runs just average feels low on power and sluggish acceleration but runs smoothly and idles at 880. when I unplug the sensor it runs great with way more power at mid and high rpm with a slightly high idle at 1k and smells rich.
Suggestions? Should I look at my cht sensor or reference sensor? Thank you |
My first guess would be an issue with your fuel delivery...

This is completely unscientific, but my car ran so poorly when I bought it, that the PO had disconnected the O2 sensor b/c it ran better with out it.
I later found that I had a an ICV issue and a lot of little vacuum leaks. Once I resolved them, it ran better with the O2 sensor. Your ICV may be ok, but you might have un-metered air getting in. Any difference in performance between when cold and when warmed up? The ref sensor is only used during start up, so I think you can eliminate that. A faulty CHT can mess with you tho'. |

Has your air flow meter been tampered?
|
I don't think so, the plug is still in place.

Pull the hose off the fuel pressure regulator and see if gas runs out.
|
Which hose on the regulator

Would gas run out of the vacuum line? JW said to remove the hose to see if gas runs out.
|
Checked , No gas came out of the vacuum line

hi 911sc..my 1st think would be you to remove the air flow meter ,then remove the plugs and have the C/0 checked...your car is running too lean....

No you do open the unit.
Remove it from the car.Remove the el.plug there are 3 nuts which holdss it in place.then big hose clamp on top.On the right side is a breather hose bracket where you remove 2 phillips head screws.(also remove the filter with the cover 1st.) Behind the filter is the 3rd nut to hold it in place.Once you have it out you drill 2 mini holes into the alu.plug and remove it by pulling it out with needle nose pliers. http://img.pccreation.net/photos/201706022148518238.JPG Here is the alu plug. http://img.pccreation.net/photos/201706022150064219.JPG the plug comes out here do not bother to put it back no need to. Final report , it was a bad cht sensor old crusty single wire. Possibly a bad spark plug wire contributed to the problem. I got a new set of beru wires and she is back on the road. Thanks
