Deciphering Fuchs stamping
I just received my refinished Fuchs wheels from Harvey Weidman. 3 cheers for Mr Weidman...SmileWavy...The wheels look phenomenal. I am waiting on my center caps & lug nuts in a separate shipping before they go onto my 83' SC along with some new rubber (Toyo R1R).
My question is about the stamping on the underside of the wheel. Some of the stamping is fairly obvious.....for instance...7J X 15. I assume this is to indicate a 7X15 wheel. Why the "J", I don't know. maybe that is the first question. But then of course there are series of other stamps as well such as....911.361.020 AS10.62......and also FCO along with an assortment of letters and numbers of which there appears to be no rhyme or reason. Anyone know what this all means? Here are a few pictures of the newly refinished wheels.... The "J" refers to the style of bead seat. More info here:
