If you have a 74 or 75 Carrera/other roller that is not a rust bucket or want Jay Leno $$$$, PM me back. OK to voice an opinion but do not hate because it is waste. |
Is it official this is the new guards red targa thread. Harry its your thread nice car you asked and I don't like the carrera tail on the long hood. Looks dull with no tail but dafisher's looks great. If you can get a duck on a lid and switch you'd have it all.
Ok now let's see some more Targas!!!!! |

Ducktail or no tail IMO.

Thanks for the comments. Not very surprised by what I am seeing.
As far as the Front Air Dam/rear spoiler thing. I have been driving my car with the tail since 2003. I have done DE's, Autocross, spirited driving and commuting. The only time I my car has actually lost traction and rotated is at Autocross when I make an aggressive move (Typically at 11/10ths). At all other times, the car is well planted. Where am I heading. I will drive it without the tail for a while and then it will return as my lovely wife prefers the tail look and her vote out numbers any number of other votes. |

late to the game here - in more respects than one,
Targa owner, but I want and bought a tail. Fixer (Matt Mariani) just painted it and I can't wait to install. That said, I can see skipping it on earlier MY targas. |
I like tail. But I don't judge. Life is too short to pretend you like tails when you don't. Whatever floats your boat...
;) |
I took the tail off my 86 Targa as a test and found I preferred the look. However, on a very hot day, I do think the oil temp did move up a tad from the with tail version.
