Post Targa Top Help

Hoping someone can help

I have 82 targa. It has new seals on top,new front seal above windshield, and new seals on both sides of windshield. problem is that there is a gap between small triangle windows and targa top. Also windows are coming up too high (i need new little rubber stops at top of triangle glass) so really there is a gap the length of passenger and driver window because windows should be level with triangular window.

hope someone can steer me in right direction

Lou

Lou:

You may be the victim of the dreaded superceded seal on the front, top windshield. You will need to cut to fit.

The side seals, where they mate to the upper seal, ought to have matched up reasonably well. The window issue is the classic pull the door panel and have a go. Be prepared to leave that panel off for a few rides to ensure you have quieted down any rattling. Remember to vacuum/treat the "floor" of the door for rust prevention. A piece of tape on the inside, at the front where the hole is, will cover this without need for outside cap and possibly quiet down hiway noise.

the vent frame is adjustable up/down, in/out. the window height adjustment is on the regulator. pull the door panel to see. the rubber tip on the vent frame does nothing to limit glass travel.

Listen to John W. I would bet that your vent frame is loose/misaligned.

I took door panel off and loosened 5mm allen bolts holding vent window assembly. It looks as though vent window cant go much higher.

Do I need to remove window and then complete window frame assembly and then adjust vent window higher?
The window seals fine it is just that vent is too low
