TBitz FPR

I know that Bitz Racing specifies, or rather recommends, the MSD-2222 fuel pressure regulator. Since this is a rising-rate unit tailored to supercharged/turbocharged engines I'm curious as to why that is. You guys that are running the Bitz kit, what regulator are you using?

I have the NLA MSD 2222.
Can't buy it any more, so I don't know what I would use today.
I think it was originally recommended due to low cost and good function.

I asked Tony a while back because of the NLA. He 'suggested' the Summit 220057 for about $106 plus fittings. But, he said he hasn't specifically used it yet. It was a suggestion.

I currently use the Summit FPR 220057, and it works just fine.

Thanks guys. The reason I asked was because of the NLA issues, although I did find a few sources. I will look at the Summitvproduct.

I use an Aeromotive 13105, but that's because I wanted AN fittings everywhere. You could get some 6AN o-ring boss to barb fittings to use it with Tony's stock kit.
It's also a bit more than the MSD was, but it has excellent reviews, and seems beefier.

I use an 2.5 bar FPR for a Saab 900

I don't run the Tbitz kit but on my EFI setup i use this Tomei regulator. 1:1 ratio and very solid construction and great reputation.

Also, would a rising rate regulator act differently on an NA motor than a 1:1? No boost pressure, no rise in the fp rate.

The pressure will drop with manifold vacuum applied to it at a rate of about 0.5psi drop per inch of vacuum. So, for instance, if you have 20 in Hg at idle and your base pressure was set at 40 psi, your fuel pressure at idle would be about 30 psi if you had manifold pressure reference line hooked up to the regulator.

Which regulators are ethanol compatible? I had the original MSD part and I believe within a couple years the diaphragm degraded from the ethanol in the gas and caused all kinds of problems I changed it out with another FPR and I think I have the same problem again. I have found a gas station now that has no ethanol in its premium gas so i will be switching to that gas on the next fill up

I ran the aeromotive 13129. I started with a Bitz kit minus the fuel rails since I was running a Carrera intake with factory fuel rails. I believe pretty much any EFI fuel pressure regulator will work.
