Correct adhesive for trim on top of 911SC rocker panel

Hi,

I noticed yesterday that the trim on top of the rocker panel on the passenger's side is coming up. Is there an adhesive I can use to reattach it that won't damage the paint underneath? I was thinking of using rubber cement or the 3M tape at auto zone.

Thanks!

I've used double sided adhesive tape from 3M in gray or black (or other body shop specific product) with success before. I'd suggest: Automotive Acrylic Plus Attachment Tape 06384 TOL3M6384 - TOL-3M-6384 | Pelican Parts as it is used for reattaching body side moldings, rocker panel moldings, etc.

Awesome, thanks!

Is the 3M rubber cement the weatherstrip adhesive? A quick google search didn't find anything for automotive rubber cement, but I could be missing something.

If you buy a new trim strip, it comes with two long strips of double sided tape on it.

Before you glue the old one down, you might want to peel it all the way off and look for rust. This place is notorious for rust on these cars because the the trim does a great job of trapping water and holding it there.

KTL: Thanks for the advice, will do. It's raining here right now, but when it stops I'll take a good look in the sunlight.

I noticed that some rubber cements come use heptane as the thinner, would that be a concern with paint?

Thanks all for the help, I'm quite the newbie and appreciate the guidance!
