fuel delivery system

Does anybody know if a european fuel distributor will improve the performance (hp and tq) on my 78 3.0L motor that has 9.8:1 pistons, 20/21 grind webcams , headers and racing valve springs? I believe my stock cis is limiting my performance by not delivering enough fuel at high rpm. Suggestions other than going to carbs? -Hans

I don't know about the fuel distributor, but there is a rising rate fuel regulator made by micro dynamics that is supposed to do what you want - provide additional fuel at higher rpm.

I haven't actually seen one, but I read about it in the Bosch Fuel Injection Book.

Supposedly it will allow you to run the proper mixture at low and mid rpm, but richen the mixture at higher rpm. It is supposed to replace your stock regulator on the back of the fuel distributor.

If you aren't getting enough fuel at high rpms are you noticing any of the effects of running lean? Too lean can be very, very bad.

The piston is without a doubt ugly !! Was that the result of a lean condition or an over aggressive cut in the valve relief? Or both?
