Removing Speedometer on '69
I am doing a resto on a '69. I need to remove the instruments. My speedometer's odometer has the cable with the knurled knob. I need to know the best procedure for separating the cable from the housing through the dash. Car is somewhat rusty.
Thanks Jerry |

The 69s had screws in the back holding the instruments in place. Have you removed the heater blower unit in the trunk?

yes. Blower and wipers are out I can get a vise grip on the parts in the dash. Just not sure if this is the way to go. I have the speedo out except for the cable. Just want to know hat this is where to go to disconnect.

The cable just unscrews from the back of the speedo.

Hi Jerry - if you need additional info on the removal, take a look at the link below for the procedure.
