Redoing the ground in front of the battery 1988 3.2

Before

Half way through cleaning everything. Neat copper (?) plated ground area. Brass brushed everything so that it shined. Used Deoxit before assembly.

Finished with new ground cable and new nut.

Good job, however, it appears you substituted an insulated ground wire for the braided ground strap. My understanding is that a braided strap has more strands of wire than a regular 4 ga battery cable. These strands are also smaller in diameter. The many smaller strands have a greater surface area than the fewer larger strands. Electrons flow over the surface of metals not the core. The difference may in actuality be negligible, so I wouldn't worry about changing it now that the job's done.

A/C only for wire surface skin effect of electrons.
D/C flows through every part of the wire.
That is why a 16 AWG wire is rated 20 amps for D/C.
The cable for D/C at 500,000 volts is about 1/3 the diameter needed if it was an A/C circuit.

You will be fine with the new insulated cable.
