Early sway bar question
Did I screw up? I got 2 of these ball pins to install on my rear trailing arms for a sway bar.
I had to cut the pin down because it seemed about 1/2" too long. Then I searched and saw that for my car 1971 911e. They show a short and a long version. Anyway. Before I install the trailing arms will a drop link still attach? If not I'll cut the newly installed ones and start over. Easier off the car. ![]() ![]()

Some images here might be helpful, but it looks fine to me.

Do a test fit with the anti sway bar to see if it will interfere.
Both my 76 and 77 have plenty of room under there for the factory drop links. Yours looks about right. Even if you go ahead and install the spring plate, you will still have plenty of room to work on the pin should it be required. Free hint: Do your self a favor and start with new drop links. As they age, the angles tend to wander. They are handed - left and right. If not perfectly aligned at the proper angle, they will keep popping off. Bill K

I installed the factory pins with the car on a lift. Easy access with MIG or TIG.
On the car allows you to bolt the sway bar in the rear mounts. The drop links can then be installed on the sway bar, then swung into alignment with the correct ball location (loaded suspension suggested). Yours looks fine to me. Unless the drop links are bent, you can just replace the polymer (nylon?) ball sockets. |

Ok thanks guys. I was worried that they might be too short. Or not sticking out far enough. I still need to source the bar and drop links. And will certainly use new bushings.
