Whatever Happened to Ronal Wheels

I know that the company still make wheels. However I have not seen any of the wheels pictured below. I think they may have been called "turbo" or "R9"? They have a terrific vintage look.

They look like the Compomotive wheels I have for my race car.

It looks like Compomotive is still in business. They do not appear to have the "Turbo" wheels.

Ronal used to make a couple different 3 piece wheels. They made the turbo shown earlier and a mesh wheel. Both work on BBS motorsport 20 bolt lips and barrels. I'd love to have a set of turbo's, but the magnesium construction makes me nervous on a road car.

I knew the guy who ran Ronal USA and he was always having inventory issues as the factory kept taking on more and more OEM work and pushing aside their own designs. Eventually, he was told they were shutting down their office in HB and closing up and he liquidated all their remaining inventory. So it was a business decision on their part to focus only on OEM work.

Here are mine. I typically only like the original fuchs wheels but these were on when I got the car, I try to convince myself they are similar to the porsche 917k wheels, and I have learned to like them

While I'm not 100% certain on the details, these are Ronal Turbos. They're a similar 3 piece design copy of the original Compomotive TH turbos. The Ronals are magnesium and face-mounted, while the Compomotives are aluminum and sandwich-mounted.

I have a set of the Compomotives in 5x130 and in about 10 years now have never come across another with the same fitment. Typically I see them in 4 bolt arrangements adapted to VW and other early euro only cars. My buddy who I sourced mine set of faces from originally found 7 faces and we have never been able to locate an 8th to complete the second set.

Those are ronal racing. Theyre magnesium motorsport wheels. I have a 15" set (same as pictured) in their medium casting in 15x8.5/10.5 for 930 that I would sell.

I also have the larger casting in 5x130 which can be made 15-19" with bbs motorsport parts.
