Unique Carrera S Tail
I saw a Carrera S this past Sunday and observed its unique tail -- it is split down the middle. It also sits flusher to the body than the regular Carrera tail. Why is it different? Anyone know the story here?
Curiousity is piqued...

When Porsche introduced the Carrera 4S last year they went back to the rear reflector. Maybe a blast from the past since all 911s from 74 to 97(?) had them. Rear reflector, round headlights...back to basics for Porsche.

The split grill is unique to 1997+1998 993S(2 wheel drive). Not on 993C4S

Why did they use a unique tail on these cars? Is there any performance reason for it?
