Stupid question #1

Whilst I grabbed at some change from the center console (hate that thing) for the meter, a quarter slide down the console, like sliding through a well aimed funnel, and stuck itself almost under the rubber boot of the shifter. I couldn't grab it so I pulled on the boot to gain more room and the damn thing slid down the right side whole in the shifter INTO THE FRICKIN SHIFTER!@!!!!@!@!@!
Should I be very worried?

IMO, no question is a dumb question. Unfortunately I don't even have a dumb answer to offer.

Dont sweat, Brad. Its most probably dropped harmlessly into the tunnel. The lower edge of the boot is below the top of the shifter, so no way it has fallen in harms way. Go see Kurt V - have him show you a strong launch, and try to catch the quarter as it zips by the shift coupler.

My son loves those cars....the ones at the mall that you put the money in and ride for a few minutes!!!!!

maybe this is the opportunity to increase the value of all P-cars......I can just see the adverts

P-Car low mileage, pristine condition......$300 hidden in tunnel.

From memory there is no chance of it jamming in the mechanism it should just all to the floor and ratttle annoyingly from now on.

Mark......

Yeah, the same thing happen to me last summer. It wasn't a quarter, but a cigarette lighter (small bics type) I was a little worried about that, imagining my car blowing up or something fun like that? Anyway, during a routine vacuuming, the lighter showed up .... thank goodness.

Last summer a friend of mines CD player stopped working. He took it to the Chevy Dealer and complained. Later that day, when he picked up the car, the mechanic handed him a bag with about $5 in coins in it.

It appears his young son was taking the toll money and putting it in the slot in the CD.

He was not happy.

1. Remove tranny linkage cover plate in front of rear seats.

2. Stick hand in hole.

3. Accelerate hard, and coins should end up in your hand.

4. From now on, store coins in CD player.

If you put another quarter in there the passenger seat vibrates for about 15 minutes!

You know, I heard that some people dump a lot of money into their 911s.
