Super charger for 911 SC with PMO carbs

Has anyone ever supercharged a 911 SC with PMO Carbs?
Is this even possible? Anyone make a kit for this?
I dreamed that my 911 was supercharged and I don't want to wake up.

Supercharging/turbocharging and carbs isnt a great solution, just ask Lotus.

Supercharging aircooled 911s with proper injection with a 3.2 intake is a great solution, search my name and others for details.

Supercharging a carb-equipped car is much more difficult than a CIS or EFI car. First off carburetors are not designed to be under pressure from the inside. Leaks would be abundant to say the least! Carbureted cars that have been supercharged (and there obviously have been a lot of them in the past) have either sucked through the carburetor (not really practical with the PMO's) or have had a pressure-proof housing enclosing the carburetor so the carb sees equal pressure inside and out. This is how the Studebaker Hawk's, supercharged T-birds, etc. did it. Could you do this with the PMO's? No doubt - about anything is possible - but at the very least the "coolness" factor of the PMO's would be lost.

Then there's the tuning issues. Access to a dyno required, and someone with a LOT of knowledge tweaking PMO's/Webers also required as well as a lot of time and money to get it sorted out. None of this is required with EFI; a few keystrokes and you are done. With some systems now they even pretty much tune themselves.

Far better to go back to injection if you want to pursue supercharging. (An area l am familiar with.)

But anyways, I boosted a carb back in 94 or 95.

Let me tell you, boosting carbs have come a long way. I doubt PMO would work, but your standard 'Merican carb manufacturers make blow-through carbs that work pretty good.

I've seen an adapter on this forum that someone built to fit a 4 barrel holley carb on a 911.
I'm pretty sure the guy built it himself though. Maybe a draw through with a 4 barrel carb, but there's not a lot of room under the 911 lid.

We ran a Holley on a road racing car and had endless trouble with the float vents sloshing into the venturis. At the quantity of grip I would expect from a Porsche I would expect to have issues.
In other words, I wouldn't do it.
