Storing for a year

Apologies - I know this has been covered adnauseum but am hoping for some specific recommendations to my situation.

Sept 1 my wife and I leave for a one year trip to South America on motorcycles. I have to store my 82sc and a friend has a unheated space at a storage facility in the country where he also stores several vehicles. I have performed a fresh oil flush and change and bled the brakes/new fluid. It is not likely the car would get much attention or be started and run up to temp much, if at all.

So far I was planning to fill tank, add stabilizer, air up the tires to 50psi and maybe disconnect the battery, or pull it and store somewhere else on trickle.

Your help and suggestions much appreciated.

Regards

Mark

Cover your car. Jack stands if u have them. Place mouse poison and traps around car. Place damp rid in interior. Remove battery. Enjoy your trip.

Everything you noted sounds sufficient.

Make sure the heater levers are down, too, so critters can't get inside the ducts.

Wouldn't heater levers up close the flapper off to the outside?

And if you further seal off and close the cabin by closing the outside air vent flap with the slide knob on the dashboard, I'd consider leaving the door windows down about an inch to assist in the prevention of mildew formation along with the use of previous poster's "damp rid" (or, another desiccant) use suggestion. I've used desiccant tubs from Camping World (popular to RV owners) that were sold in 2-packs and placed a tub on each footwell floor.

Although, maybe it'd be better to leave the dash vent air slide all the way open to allow the cabin to breathe since mice cannot get through the grill grating in front of the windshield where the vent air enters.

You may want to consider removing all carpeting too from not only the foot wells but also the front trunk - less material to absorb moisture AND removes all chance of mice chews.

And I've used carpet squares (showroom samples - free from home carpeting stores) placed under each tire to prevent flat-spotting (if you don't get all four off the ground with Jack stands, which would be my chosen storage set-up)

Keep the windows and vents closed so the damp rid can do its job Also critters don't like the smell
