wheel locks

I am thinking about buying wheel locks. A 911 catalog has three different kinds--McGard ($40), Factory locks ($70) and PP ($60). Does anyone know which ones are worth buying? Do they even work?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Whatever you do don't get the old styled key locks.....They stink. Thanks to this board I'm looking to replace mine shortly. However, I can't recall mention of anything other than using the newer factory replacements. On ebay they have a reasonably priced set...but I can't speak for their quality.

Has anyone here had their unlocked Porsche wheels stolen? A show of hands please? P-wheels only fit P-cars and I don't think there is a big market for them.
No wheel locks for me thank you.

I live in California, where I think you'll find the majority of the 911s in the U.S. There's a huge Porsche market out here, especially in So. Cal. I didn't even think wheel locks were a necessity, until last December when my neighbor's RUF wheels were stolen from his 911. And we don't live in the bad part of town.

That's the first time I'd heard of Posche wheels being stolen. Here in NH, theft isn't much of a problem though I could see how it might be - the ground is too frozen to bury a thief now.

My wrench says to use the updated factory locks only.
