Need your Advice on this please...

Please settle a bet for me please with a friend of mine. Which domain name is better:

FastForward.com or Competizone.com ?

The site would be for "performance" stuff that you would normally find in magazines like Sport Car Tuner, Sport Compact, etc... You know, ricer-type stuff.

What do you think. Please vote and help me win a cup of coffee!

-Wayne

FAstforward is just too obvious. I personally prefer competizone. If your target is ricers, how about Bling-zone or "Waynes home of flashy wheels and annoying lights"

Fastforward.com is the way to go, as Cornpanzer noted, it's obvious. Isn't that what the name should be??

No question. Fastforward is easy to remember and easy to spell, two things I think would be VERY important with a web address. By the way, I don't think anyone ever lost money being too obvious.

hell, I dunno...suggest you go to a rice boy hangout & ask them. I'm not kidding. Like surfing, generate friends among the locals...only then do you get the "straight skinny" as we old farts used to say.

As my IS guy in my plant would say, it needs to be "sick" or "stupid". If I get any more words of wisdom from him, I'll let you know.

Tuner-Werks.com is available.......er, it was. I'll sell it to you for 25% of Pelican.

You know I'm kidding, but I thought tieing into DriveWerks was a good idea. And as the others have said, it's obvious.

Funny though, Tunerwerks.com is taken, but there is no site. Tunerwerks.net is available

Wayne, did you do a search on google to see what type of traffic you would get using FastForward? I got quite a few hits using that term in the search... If you checkout the link http://www.fastforward.ca/ you will see that this company's name is FastForward Automotive and they sale VW stuff. I also know that FastForward is a program used in the Special Education environment so you may end up with a lot of misguided traffic (not necessarily a bad thing ) just not sure that's the traffic you want. Why not go with Fast-Werks?

FastForward reminds me of a comedy show of the same name in Australia.

I'd try to keep the branding together if possible. ____Werks works

SpeedWerks
FastWerks
CompetitionWerks
RaceWerks

etc

How about something more in keeping with that demographic's vernacular, like "Phat-Tunerz.com".

Then again...maybe not.

Neither is a great name, but FastForward is something any idiot with a remote control in his house can spell. Competizone sounds like some kind of pasta or something -- more importantly, it's not easy to spell. And that's death, on the internet.

I wonder what the loss percentage is when people initially type in a web site wrong?

I was thinking blingbling.com, but amazingly it is taken.

the simpler the better. Word of mouth can then work, but if it's something that you could mispell easily then ricer A won't be able to find it when Ricer B tells him to go there.

Ha, well, I guess I lose. Eli said FastForward, I said Competizone. In fact, we already own Competizone, so it may be a mute point...

My original intentions for Competizone were to make it Pelican's division for racing track equipment...
