Finally got a coupe! 78 SC in Arrow Blue!

Hello folks,
After getting my 83 Targa sorted out and situated she's been treating me very good for a while now. So I decided it was time to take that next step and get myself a coupe. I've also been interested in doing a full build (hot rod of course)
After the harsh realization that I'm not able to afford the 930 market, nor can I get myself into a decent longhood either. I humbled myself into a good ol SC. After all, it's often wise to stick with what you know..
Some of you may have seen this one before, I believe there's a thread based on the rarity of the color combo, Arrow Blue on Blue.
The shapes of things are... It has an 80 model engine in it. Rumor has it Porsche swapped it in under warranty. And it's long past gone with 4 broke head studs. I'm not even gonna bother with leak down and compression tests. It does pull itself quite well considering.. Transmission runs thru all the gears just fine. The body is practically rust free! The interior was dyed black years ago and is all hard and crusty, not at all comfortable lol. And the electrical system seems to be in pretty good shape, all I had to do is replace a few bulbs and clean a few connections to get all lights working for inspection! Over all I am very happy with my purchase and looking forward to the major projects that came along with it!

More pics on the way, soon as I get them rotated..

Thanks! Can you believe someone actually painted that black at one time!? The PO stripped it back down to the original finish..

Thanks KC. I found her here on pelican. Up in Kokomo Indiana, about 3 hrs north of me. Cruised up there in my Targa to check her out, had a nice experience buying from an enthusiastic Porsche owner for a change.. It all went very smooth. The car had been sitting a while, so it took me a few days of wrenching to get her suitable for out of state inspection.. 3rd car I've looked at this year.

Easy there Mark.

Seriously though, Arrow Blue was in the top 5 colors for my build. Dave Kealoha aka "the Flyin' Hawaiian" is doing an epic hot rod build right now in Arrow Blue. It is drool-worthy.

New Project, SC to RSR Style Hot Rod

And congrats on the SC OP.

Smarens-I think those Plug Wires may have been a deciding factor in the purchase
Thanks Luccia, I'll need all the info I can get! Gonna be a big project!

Kraftwerk-It's my understanding that this is a pretty rare color combo, Arrow Blue on Blue for this era..
Time Collector- That makes 3 78 coupes recently purchased on here. Another gentleman has a thread going on his "FOXY BROWN" You'll have to throw some pics up of yours!
TDW- Yup I've got just about all the build threads covered, been doing plenty of homework! Daves RSR is gonna be a sweet ride!

Great 78 KyMitch, mine is the early brown 78 #205.

Where are you located?

I really like that generation Cayenne too, still heavy duty..

Hey Fixer!
I'm just south of Louisville, Ky. My 78 is # 1871.
Your Foxy Brown is hot! Haha First year for the Super Carrera, our cars should be up around 6 digits with the longhoods and turbos any time now...
I like my Cayenne, it seems pretty tough, I'm not easy on it at all. However, last week a steering rack bolt broke! Yikes! Thankfully there were no casualties, and an easy fix.

Hey KyMitch! Darn I hoped we lived a little closer..

I really loved my Cayenne S, bought it right when they first hit the pavement, should of kept it. It did everything well imo.

I think the dye helped the sun ruin your leather, leather shouldn't do that unless left in extreme sun daily. ( I've read 75 years if cared for ) where did you find this car?

I found it here on pelican. It was about 3 hrs north of me up by Kokomo In. Yes the car sat outside for some time a few owners ago, and the guy I got it from had it stored in a garage. It has sat for a very long time. All soft materials are pretty much shot. Window gaskets, leather, etc.. I can't believe it's not a rust bucket. It's actually very solid.
