Porsche Illustrations
I had an illustration done of my SC last year. The artist how did it just put up a web site with some examples. My SC made the example list!!!
Steve does great work. If you are proud of your car these are a must have. Jack, your BB II has to be done! http://www.saillustrations.com/pages/2/index.htm Phil |

I second your comments Phil. Steve is both a great artist and a great guy.
He did pictures of my RS and my Turbo and I admire them every single day! Can't wait to have him do my next Porsche!

I have mine in my office. Hardly a day goes by that someone is just standing there looking at it.

I've exchanged some emails with him. I talked about having him do one of those see-through type drawings, but he gets expensive for custom work.
One of his stock silhouette pictures is nice, though, and I may do it in the future.

Steve does incredible work. He can add even the slightest detail to match your car. He put a perfect "Gwinnt CanAm & Interserie 72&73" sticker on my illustration - about 5/16 inch in diameter but completely legible!
BTW: the sticker was original for 1974 911's and is the only one not available as a reproduction. -- Curt |

Uh, twist my arm.
That looks great. I'll get you some photos as soon as the car is put back together.Could be a good image for the enrty page for the new BB2 website, too.

sure thing Jack...I know there are subtle things that make our cars original. That's where I will need the photos of BBII complete.
This is something I do for fun, and I would love to contribute to BBII in art form.

thank you.
I am not quite at the quality of Steve, but with time and the right tools I can create images pretty close to what he is doing...but I just do this for fun.

When I say tools I mean quality paper, paints, markers, brushes, etc.
The one above was simply done with a black ball point pin and a plain piece of paper. I started with a simple outline...then I scanned it and used MS Paint to doctor it a little (1st image posted) to make the decision of where to go from there. I then decided to use a mix of complete shading (solid black) and small dots to complete the drawing. This was just a quick skecth to give an idea of what can be done, from start to finish this took less than 2 hours. hope that answers your questions.

Nice work HD. That technique is a real time killer. Looks great!
I only hope my art can come close to Steve's work some day. But, that will require a lot of dedication and training.

I spend a lot of time drawing, but cars are difficult to get right - like faces the personality is so strong that a simple error on proportion comes out just wrong. You can get by with a little of that on a face but on a car it just looks "off"! |
