BB2 on the road already???
I spotted the BB2 in the valley (lassen & de soto) on a flat bed tow truck and almost hit a parked car. I did a triple look at the car.
1st look - Hey look it's a porsche on a flatbed 2nd look - Wow, its pretty clean, has a roll bar and super flared fenders 3rd look - Holy *****, it's the BB2!!! (watch out for that parked car) I was totally shocked (wouldn't you be?). The BB2 sure does look nice.

Really? Did it have doors on it? BB2 might have been on the move today, but it would still be without decklids, doors or glass.

In fact, Kevin's shop cam is back on, and you can see BB2's track decklid and (possibly) hood in this picture.

No doors, but I think the hood was on, I don't remember it being hallow in the front. I was driving the opposite way, so it was hard to focus.
What was it doing on that side of the Valley?

Getting the cage and panel to cover where the rear seats used to be.
Glad it's still looking good. ![]()

Wait... maybe it wasn't the BB2, I swear I saw a cage inside. Going across low on the door up with a angle.
It had huge fenders, and the paint was perfect. It even sat like yours right now.

If it was going from the place that installed the cage, and to my shop, then it makes sense.
Otherwise, I've got competition. ![]()

OK, so your cage is done, from what I saw it looked like a nice cage. Easy to get in and out, had a sweet angle.
Maybe someone is a step ahead of you ![]()

Yep, that was Jack's car. It arrived tonight.
The cage looks awesome. The rear cover over the rear seat area? I'm too upset to comment.

Well Kevin, it looks pretty. But it has almost none of the function or specification that we asked for.
But they did an awesome job on the cage. The rear cover can be fixed, it's just a hassle since they took so long that we're behind schedule already.

"Behing schedule" he says. Makes my project look pretty pathetic.
Should be running again in a week or two. Better be- Autocross season is almost here. |

What I want to know...is Kevin ever going to be allowed to work on his Corvairs?

In a recent development I have contracted an out of work friend (handy aren't they?) to start the paint prep on the turbo. Providing he doesn't do too much damage it will be in paint by this summer. Now I'll have to decide on a color.
