Brake help
These were on the floor of car. The mounting holes are over an inch further apart than the car. Does anyone recognize these calipers??

They look like mine.......

XT, Those brake calipers look very similar to these 993 rear brake calipers. The 993 rear brake caliper has approx. 95 mm (3.75") center to center mounting holes. Post some side view pictures of the calipers and Bill V. might be able to identify yours. Tony |

They are one of the following, all use the same basic casting w/
964 front or rear 965 rear 944/951 front or rear 993 rear 928 rear 968 rear The mounts are all the same but pistons and throat widths vary

The box where tha pads go, it has to be wide enough to accomodate new pads and the rotor. These calipers were made to accommodate either 32 x304 or 28x299mm or 24x299mm rotors

I swear I'm loosing it
These brakes do not work in rear ...okay mounting issues but low and behold they fit the front. Some slight issues... need to space off mounting to be in the right spot but for some reason the clip on back lightly rubs the rotor?? Wrong rotors maybe?

the mounts I believe are 97mm oe ~ .32" wider apart than the 3.5" mounts on SC/Carrera struts, some people hog out or otherwise modify the mounting holes. the remaining issues are 1) rotor, this image shows a rotor that is not thick enough for the caliper. Stock 964 front rotors are 28mm w/ a minimum of 26mm. In the image there is more than 2mm space behind the pad. Most of the rest of the possible calipers are for 24mm thick rotors w/ a minimum 22mm rotor thickness ![]() 2) no matter what else the bias is going to be altered negatively by those calipers Do yourself a favor and for get trying to use them.

As I posted before there are many possible variations on that caliper, all w/ the same 97mm axial mounts
pistons for front were all 36/40 pistons for rear were either 28/30 or 30/34 pad box for 28mm rotors was 98x67.5mm, for 24mm rotors was 98x63.5mm all are radius-ed for 300mm +/- rotors older versions have cast fins and script, newer versions are cleaner w/ decal script
