Photoshop help: new Carrera script
Saw a new/unique Carrera side script at Dunkels last wkend. Can someone photoshop this script onto my car? without the rear fender stone-guard, and possibly one w/ ducktail.
Really like the look of the white carrera w/ duck tail, and was considering a similar look for my car. thanks in advance Mike First is pic of my red car 2nd post will be of Carrera script |

Thanks, Mark!!
If you or anyone else has the time and inclination to take it one step further, i'd appreciate a similar pic (1)without stone guard on rear fender, and (2) Ducktail instead of Carrera whale tail. Thanks a million. Mike |

Well, this is really a rough job. I don't have near the skills with PS that some of the other guys do, but here anyway.

I knew there was a better picture of your car, but that was the first that I found in my search. So, what's it like to have an Icon?

Photoshop guys, what method do you use to isolate the script. I'm very novice. The magic wand doesn't want to do a good job for me, and it's pretty tedious to do it manually??

Good question Steve. I've wondered the same thing.
Reg, All good on the MO. Haven't decided if I'm keeping the Soft Window yet. It's definately a car worth restoring but don't know if I have the onions to do it. Mark |

There are many ways to do selections in PS. The Magic Wand sometimes does a good job but for the script on the side of the car, it will do a horrible one. In the image given, there are simply not very many pixels available that create the Carrera script to grab. Additionally the Magic Wand works from contrast and in the image, the script is light and the car white, a bad combo. One trick you could use is to push the contrast on the image to enhance the differences between the script and the car and then "fixed" the selection or mask in the QuickMask mode but that would be tedious. What I did was go out to the web and find a vendor that had a good clean image of a Carrera script badge for the tail. I grabbed that, dumped all the background, created an outline of that script, made it black and brought it in as a layer over the car image. This allowed me to tweak size, position and color as much as I wanted.
I hope this helps. P.S. I am working on creating the Carrera script as vector art. May get it done today.
