Dashboard Fascia Removal

I am hung up on removing the last piece of the dashboard fascia backing plate. The first 2 sections on the passenger side practically fell off. The driver's side was a little tougher as the plastic(?) retainer clips on the 47 yr. old hazard flasher were so brittle they snapped - no big deal. The middle section (c/w heater slide control levers) in the photo is the piece in question.

It almost seems as though there is a fastener or something holding this piece on. I have done the obligatory search & found there is precious little in the archives on the "how to" on this subject so...
What am I missing doing to remove this without buggering things up?

Any thoughts or advice on my problem will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Cheers
JB
