Unhappy What GM product would you trade your 911 for?

OK, I went for a spin tonight in the 911S and happened to cruise by a local GM dealer where I spotted a gorgeous orange 1975 Carrera sitting on their used car lot. Upon inquiry, it seems that the Carrera was a daily driver for the guy's wife and when he bought her a new GM-junkmobile, they used the Carrera as a trade-in! Can you believe it?!?

The upside is that the car is already sold... I'm hoping to someone more deserving than the P/O.

It is alway sad to see P-cars hanging around in used car lots all on their lonesome. I would never trade the P-car for a GM product. I would never trade the P-car for anything!

I have a Holden (Australian GM) as a daily driver - big V8 sports suspension (or so they say), big wheels, lots of rubber. Looks great (sounds great) but really doesn't cut it.

Now you've gone and got me wishing I was driving the Porsche everyday.

I would take 1,000 shares of their stock.

Then again, I don't know of any P-car for under $55k new that could beat a new Corvette Z06 on a racetrack... 405 HP... Can you buy a new 400+ HP P-car for under $55k?

Yeah, but what's the lap time of that Neon... I'm not joking...

Sled, I've been to a awful lot of track events, and I'm still waiting for the stock Z06 that can keep up with my less-than-55K 911.

I'm not saying the right driver couldn't do it, but I haven't run into him yet.

I think that both the Corvette and the new SVT Neon would need a lot of work before they could actually live up to their magazine numbers in real-world track performance.

They're both good values, though, and good starting points for track cars.

Jack, He said new...I think yours might not qualify. Even if most of it is new.

The ZO6 is nice but I'd never trade my 930 for one. It's not as fast but a classic is a classic...

I wouldnt trade a 88 930 either. It just depends on which 911. There are a lot of 911SC's out there right now so I know I can easily repalce it.

Not sure I would trade but I have been thinking about a vx220 turbo,
fantastic performance and reliability but with one nasty badge on the front
0-60 4.7 £25k

are these in the states yet? dont think you could keep up with one of these on the track.

I ran with a few Z06's last weekend. One was close to my stock 3.2 engined car in lap times but I could not keep up with him in the straights. The other one had some obvious changes. It comes up on you and leaves you in the blink of an eye. Absoulutely no chance of keeping pace. Driving can do a lot in counteracting the effects of another car with higher horsepower. An already fast car that has been tuned up in the hands of a good driver is another story.

I would really like to have a Grand National. I don't know about trading the 911 for it but I'd have to think about it. Trade for a ZO6, Hell no.

Z06 might be a hell of a car performance-wise, but would you want to be seen in one?

Except for a Saab, I don't think there is an US market GM product that I would buy. I might consider an Opel if I lived in Europe.
