"the server is down..."
Another difference between owning a 911 and not...although there is a pathetic quality to this episode.
We have a new distance learning project coming online, and I get email at 9pm tonight saying the server is down. Damned if I can't ping it. Mom and son are asleep on the couch (fun crowd). without 911 in the garage: send email saying "we'll get it up tomorrow", stay at home, open a beer, and either watch tv or do some recording. with 911 in the garage: send email out saying the server will be up in 20 minutes. Enjoy a friday night drive through light traffic in LA, fix things, then crank the heater and open the sunroof for the drive home. Local radio station decides "Burn" by Deep Purple would be a good song to play. I concur. at home now, beer open, server up, collaborators indebted to me and my "dedication", time to do some tracking. Could be worse... Last edited by nostatic; 02-07-2003 at 10:02 PM.. |

Any excuse is a good excuse to take the 911 out.
