OK.. I have another wire... a small black wire... it got caught as I was lowering the engine/trans.
What is it and how do I disconnect?? ![]() ![]()

That is the electronic speedo sensor. Seeing as the hold down clip is rotated off of the sensor, you should be able to pull that sensor out of the trans. Do not worry, you will not lose oil or anything as this sits on a machined surface. Leave the sensor and associated wiring installed in the car, no need to go any further than removing the sensor from the trans and from the clip and ziptie holding the loom to the trans.

It's just like plastic disc and comes straight out.

Just a plastic shaft in a machined bore. Micro tippy-tap here and there only to jostle. Twist by hand. Even PB Blaster or WD40 to penetrate and loosen up corrosion if applicable.

Unplug it in the tunnel, push the wire out and remove it with the sensor in place. My brother destroyed one of those trying to get it out.

thanks all... I got it out... engine has been removed.
I will probably have to replace this wiring an speed sensor... as I'd be surprised if it is still good after how tight I had gotten it before dropping the motor/trans

Unless you're more comfortable just replacing it, I'd put it back in and see how it works. Check your plug ends. If it works, GREAT... if not they aren't that hard to replace when in the car and most certainly not if your not worried about destroying the old one to get it out. Naturally, it's easier to do with the engine out but still not a bad job with the engine it. Your call.
