Garage
It's alive

Thanks to the amazing help from the members here I was able to drive the car for the first time today.
The transmission shifts fine but there are two outstanding issues the car is backfiring and the distributor is all the way to the max left, turning it right shuts down the car.
The second is the car doesn't go over 4000 rpms via the gas pedal.

The vacuum line from the distributor is not connected to anything and this other line is blocked with a screw.
Where should I start?

It's evidently a 2.7.
The pod on the distributor is a vacuum retard, properly working it engages at idle only.
You need to reindex the distributor, probably one tooth
Set crank pulley at Z1 , TDC.
Pull out the distributor until you can move the rotor to line up with the notch on the edge of the distributor. What you need to set is the rotor leading edge at the notch and reinstall.
Adjusting the distributor should give you more advance to run to redline.
