Singer style turn signals for 1987 Porsche 911

Hi everyone, I have recently begun restoring 1987 Porsche 911 Targa and I want it to look as much as possible like the Singer ones. So, currently I am searching for turn signals similar to those used on Singer. Maybe you guys have any suggestions? I know that their parts are custom made, but perhaps there are some suppliers who sell the assemblies somewhat resembling the Singer style?

Robert -- it's my understanding that the singer is using the turn signals (and front end "feel") of an early (1973 or earlier) "Longhood" 911. Same goes for the look from the back of the singer. Search these forums for threads about long hood conversions and you should get some good info on what's involved.

Robert start saving money. You have two options buy a long hood and long hood fenders or find some weld in lightboxes and extend your hood. I believe lightboxes will set you back about $700 cheaper than new fenders which will run around $1200 a piece and up. Then don't forget new bumpers et. Not a real cheap mod unles your good at shaping metal.

Hi everyone, Sorry for not replying sooner, I've been on a very long summer trip with my family Thank you all for all the answers and information provided. So, I decided to just buy a complete backdate kit from design 911 in UK, since I need to complete this car as soon as possible. Thanks again for the answers!

Good luck on your back date. Be sure to post lots of info and pics. However, once you have your early long hood front end, the signals still won't be quite like the Singer's. If it's the integrated fog light in place of the horn grill that you're really after, you might be in for a challenge looking for a way to fabricate them yourself as they are quite different. Singer: Regular long hood:

Nothing against singers. Obviously a great car. However to the causual observer the details like the lights will not be that obvious. Just build the hotrod you want. If it were me, I would not try to imitate a Singer. There are lots of trim details used over the years that are aesthetically pleasing. Take a look at an IROC for example.

Hey, I'm in the middle of my back date and wondering if all the long hood front turn signals are interchangeable (not talking about Singers . I ordered some very expensive turn signals and they don't seem to fit the new front light boxes that I installed...hmm.
