3.2 Carrera pulling good?

1988 Carrera
Steve Wong chip
94 Octane
Fabspeed Cat-bypass
Fabspeed Supercup Muffler
Fabspeed Supercup Airbox

1-100 mile pull (top of 3rd gear)

Feeling good after recent top-end rebuild. What do you guys think? Does she seem like she's got good power for a 3.2?

Jase.

Looking good to me. Mine pulls similarly but I’m down about 250lbs over stock. So a chip and some power adders seems very comparable

To really take advantage of the Steve Wong chip I recommend backdating the heat to pre-1973

Sorry I dont get it, what does a SW chip and back dated heat have to do with performance?

What did you have to lose for 250lbs?

The backdate heat comment ,was probably meant to suggest/recommend installing SSI heat exchangers ,which are said to be a very good addition to the sw chip for optimizing performance.
I would really like to see a comparison of the ssi 's vs the Fabspeed system the op is running.

How'd you get the CASIS light to only come on at 6000 RPM? :-)

Replace that Fabspeed crap and you'll get even BETTER performance.

I don't have access to a closed course like you do, but I bet my car would pull similar to to the top of third if I did...

Sounds great.

Meh, my 3.2 was blown away by a Turbo Volvo station wagon. You don't buy and drive these old cars for sheer acceleration. I am still waiting for a rematch but with my GT3 instead but that kid is nowhere to be found.

HAHA!!!
The same thing happened to me awhile back... some one thinks that since you drive a Porsche 911.. you must be hitting 500hp no matter what year the car is.

I'd just be happy to have an engine that pulls through the entire powerband like the OP here!!

Sorry for the double post.

It’s surprising how heavy most of the stock stuff on these cars is, especially the sound pads on the back seat and parcel tray. Those weighed in around 40lbs and the stock exhaust weighs almost 20 lbs more than my new one, but my new one is also punishingly loud so I have to do something about that lol. Point is, these cars are nic Luxury gt cars and when you start taking out the lux they lose weight fast

It would be nice if someone made a modern bolt on supercharger kit for the 3.2 that is completely reversible back to N/A at a reasonable price.

Doesn't even sound like its trying, that sound is very different than my stock 87 (to my bad hearing). I should record the sound in mine to hear the difference. And yes as others say, our cars are not fast accelerators, its simply the feel and the cornering that make it magic.

I’ve kind of sort of been in process of designing a set up for my car using a pro charger that will mount in the stock AC location. Once I start making progress on it I’ll probably make a thread
