				Mirror Options... what is there?

I hate my mirrors, these flag mirrors are huge and obnoxious and will be going by the wayside as soon as the car goes into paint. But I need to have some kind idea of what will be going on the car so I can plan for it... I want something more classic and race inspired... Here's what I have now... what do you guys run?

Note that the Sebrings can be used in conjunction with the later model Porsche "aero" mirror bases. I think it works better, aestheticially, than the flag mirror bases.

993 mirrors are nice - They may fit the same mounting holes?

Since you are painting your car that opens up a lot of options. The problem with Flag mirror removal is that there are 4 relatively large holes in the door once the mirror is removed. You'll have to weld in a piece(s) to fill those holes, but then you can start really putting anything on there you like. Some of my personal favorites are: Raydots Talbots I like the early metal flag mirrors too:

If you're going RSR with no black trim, I would go 993. There are also a few "classic" mirrors that will cover the holes. This guy used them for his fully reversible bolt-on backdate: Light weight image change - Body Overhaul Projects - Impact Bumpers | ||

I think the early all-metal flag mirrors don't bother me as much....

Ive got a set of early Trans AM mirrors that I almost went with on my RSR tribute project. Ultimately did Vitaloni Sebrings. PM me if you are interested. I would sell them $40.

I am away from the garage at the moment, so these 2 pics are the only ones on my phone. I still dig these things. They are all metal and the driver's side still has a functioning cable-driven joystick adjuster you could mount inside the car if you REALLY wanted to get "ratty". Haven't weighed them, but pretty sure they are less than the flags. Passenger side glass is cracked ($12 to replace) and would need a small bit of metal to support the base. The driver side has a complete base you could use it for a template. Probably 15 minutes of fab work. Shipping to Cincy would not be too bad from Charlotte (the REAL Queen City). For reference, Summit sells the new driver's side only for $149. YIKES!

How about these Ruf mirrors? You could use 2 but you really only need one.

Use a Vitaloni convex mirror lens on the passenger side 935 mirror for a better rear view.
