1986 3.2 Grand Prix White
Howdy Pelican,
I thought I would finally post some pictures of my car. Thanks for everyone’s help over the last few months. Veritable wealth of knowledge here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just had RarelyL8 headers and M&K muffler installed. Looks like I need to get either Quiet Riot inserts or the Car Chemistry inserts for the exhaust tips to address the resonance issue at cruising rpms. I’m open to suggestions here as well. The other issue I have is a slightly high warm idle. When I installed the Steve Wong Chip prior to the exhaust install it brought my idle up to 880-900 as it was designed to do. It stayed there warm or cold. Now, after the exhaust install it idles cold at the same 880-900. However, warm idle is 1000 or 1050 rpms. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Will jumpering the terminals and adjusting the idle adjust both cold and warm idles? Would a new o2 sensor help? I refused my old one, but it looked pretty beat. Thanks a bunch in advance. Forget about jumpering and just turn the idle bypass screw in until it idles where you want. Simple as that! Why make it more complicated just because it's a Porsche?

I love simplicity. I guess I was under an erroneous impression that you have to jumper for the idle to stay where you set it after shutdown/restart.

Sure, you can forego the jumper and just approximate the correct idle as it varies up and down, but why half ass something when you don't need to?

Have you had Steve W. re-map your chip after the exhaust change?
My car "drones" around 2500 rpm. I love it! Not sure why some don't like the sound. I especially like it when I set off alarms in parking garages. ![]()
