Introduction..... 1986 Carrera
Finally found a 911 to get me back in the game..... a 1986 Guards Red Carrera.
Purchased off the Board (thanks Pelican) and brought home (thanks Monde/Doc)yesterday, a four owner 911 with 78,000 miles. Previously owned by enthusiasts in need of very minor repairs and some updates. Equipped with spoilers, sport seats and S/R delete it reminds me of a Carrera Clubsport. Bought strictly for driving with my East Coast and on occasion West Coast mates..... |

Welcome back...(not like you ever really left).
Your patience has been rewarded.. From what I saw a set of 8’s in the rear and you are good to go! Nice car that looks like it was well maintained, mildly upgraded and fairly priced by a fellow enthusiast. Always cool to see a good car sold by a good guy go to a good owner... Lets round up the b”O”ys and start looking for some cliffs... |

BUT: lowering below euro ride hight brings "problems" - it could be that you'll have to roll the fender lip up front - it will need a tasky reset of the torsion bars at rear (up front maybe also) - it will need a full re-alignment - if you'r going for 7s front/8s rear one day this again will need camber adjustment I'd say: enjoy the ride hight as is now/first and maybe you'll have to adress more vital issues prior to going for looks... jus saying. |
