Well fellow boarders, I'm off to Townsville on Australia's Great Barrier Reef with a promotion at work. Huge move, about 900 miles north of where I live now in Surfers Paradise.
P-car is going up on a transporter on Thursday along with my boat, I won't see them for about a week ![]() We've decided to drive up in the boring Mazda towing a trailer full of my car bits, scuba gear and air compressors as the removalists won't transport flamible liquids or pressure vessels. Anyway, I'll have to cope a few weeks without my daily dose of porsche and pelican. So my friends look after yourselves and be good to each other whilst I'm gone ![]() ------------------ John Forcier 69 911T |

Tough duty, John...but somebody has to live & work near one of the world's great natural wonders. Guess it may as well be you. Have a safe move.

I love Aussie-talk! The majority of my business is done with an Australian office and I love the language.
'REMOVALIST' - kinda sounds like a 'TERMINATOR' that sneaks into your house in the dead of night...to remove things! Have a safe trip. |

Well rscupper, if you can understand aussie-speak nothing will ever phase you again. We New Zealanders have been trying to understand what the hell they've been talking about for at least the last hundred years
![]() Take care Jon. Be sure to share some good stories about that wonderful marine paradise with us ok? Hey- any jobs going handy up there?? ------------------ '72 911 TE |

How sad am I? I'm sitting on the floor with the computer the last thing I'll have packed! This way I may be able to touch base at least one or two times more...
Thanks to everyone for your kind wishes. Cam, I'm told there is a couple of 911's up there and a couple of boxters, word is that my car will stick right out amongst all those 4x4s ![]() Matt if ever you are serious about work over here email me, I can certainly tell you who is advertising, or at least what web sites to check. I know the Northern Fisheries Research Centre seems to have regular positions pop up, but they may be "graduate" positions. But hey, compared to NZ dollars.... ![]() Oh boy is heat going to be an issue, it's 34oC today (about 95oF) and warmer again up north! But I guess most of you guys are preparing to store your cars. Cheers ------------------ John Forcier 69 911T |

Good news John.
Just make sure the beers are very cold if you expect us kiwi's to come and visit you that far north. See ya, Bill. |

I'm just kidding. I actually think that the NZers have the worst use of english on the planet if the truth be told.
John, I had entertained thoughts on work in Australia a few years back when I was footloose and mortgage free, but was told that it was harder to get science positions there than it is here (which is stupidly hard). What gives?? ------------------ '72 911 TE |

John,
Stop in Port Douglas on the way up and drink a couple of VB's ![]() . I was there 8 or 10 years ago and thought it was one of the greatest places on the planet. Good Luck, Jeb '79 930 |
