reaaaaaaally great pics, especially those about this beautiful Targa Carrera 3.0
...BTW, it works better than a precise Turbo 3.3 .Even if we do not reach the high quality level of US meetings, it was cool to be there! |

Really nice to see a bunch of Porsches that are not just new cars. I did a posting a while back about some of Europe having not many old 911's on the road just 993's and 996's.

Well, I appreciate the response, thank y'all.
BTW, this club of ours http://www.911club.net has it's own (above link) website, it's in French though, and we have a growing forum, perhaps not as technically competent as you USA fella's born with a car in their stomach, but a good club, NOT associated with the "official" Porsche clubs. Most of the members (there is no fee as of yet) meet mostly on the internet, sometimes we have get-togethers, like the 28th Oct. in North France and, on the 27th, the "southerners" had a run up the Mont Ventoux (a famous French landmark down south near the Rhone), you can see those pics on the following personal website of one of their members, YvesSC83. BTW, this club of ours are more the "less rich" types, the others -with new Porsches- are more into the "official" Porsche club, very much like the PCA. So much for a very short update on Porsche freaks in France (and nearby Belgium!). Any English takers would be more than welcome to our meetings, if ever! Those are really nice pictures and I am glad to hear that we have friends on this board from overseas. How come we don't have tours to castles in our local events? (There is a distinct castle shortage in Southern California!) I suppose if you squint really hard a mission could sort of look like a cathedral.
Secondly, it is really great that you have organized a club over the internet and actually get together in person for drives. I think this is what the R Gruppe has tried to do here in California with some older more modified Porsches, but they don't have a website or anything to arrange get togethers (do they have a secret handshake?). Maybe we could persuade Wayne to start a "Pelican Club" with a discussion board here that could arrange get-togethers and drives here in SoCal? I get together with a couple of guys from the Porsche Club and Ferrari Club and go on "Sunday Morning Drives" and this informal group really has more fun than the local PCA group who makes a big deal out of everything. We have a nice mix of cars (the Porsche drivers act amazed when the Ferraris start, the Lotus guy always beats us). It is a lot of fun. It would be fun if we had a place to post get-togethers on this board and organize a really nice event like the one these guys in France did. Au revoir, Rich |
