How to set G50 clutch pedal travel

Ok did search but can't find this issue addressed. I'm putting a new master and slave cylinder in my 88. They failed early and I think maybe I have the system set to allow the pedal to be depressed a little to far. Per Bentley the pedal is to travel 150 mm (301-14) but I can't seem to figure out how to "measure" this. Anyone come up with a good way to do this?
Thanks,

Hi Buck. I have the proper procedure on measuring pedal travel. Will post it tomorrow as I am away from my PC.

Thanks for the reply, I have the manual but my question is exactly how to measure the travel. I was looking at it last night and have thought about some sort of rod mounted on a holder to check how far the middle of the pedal is actually moving.

My way- Wife/son seated pressing the clutch pedal. Me, on my knees, tape measure in hand using the procedure as per the manual.

Put the back end of the car up in the air place the car in gear and push the pedal while someone tries to rotate the tire when in brakes lose that plus a small amount more to prevent any grinding
is ultimately where you need to be. Irregardless of any specification about how many millimeters
it should be set at.

regards

OK sanity check here...put the car on jacks and started car. In neutral both tires rotating a little, in same direction. Had my wife watch while i put it in first, let clutch out and then depressed it at which point they stopped turning. That tells me I'm completely disengaging the clutch, correct?
Two questions, how to I test if it's fully engaged when I let out the clutch? I seemed to recall someone saying accelerate strongly if 5th gear to see if the RPMs go up without speed increase.
Also, is it normal for both wheels to turn if its in neutral, idling and up on jacks, or is that an indication something is wrong?
