A little OT--What music do you listen to while driving?

I haven't turned on my radio since my 3.6 swap but it is nice to crank some tunes while cruising. Just wanted to know what the group listened to. There is such thing as driving music isnt there?

Well at a stop light, the prelude to Wagner's "ride to the Valkerie's" s nice if it is properly timed!

None. My music come from the flat six behind me.

Only time I have ever used the radio was during the PPI and that was just to make sure it worked.

Cool

since the last time this subject came up I have discovered 2 great CDs..."Tommy Castro" who has a few CDs..he's great/rock/blues/great lyrics/like high end 70s stuff..everybody, including "pwd72s" and "bell"[who is an audio pro], who I turn on to this is impressed and wants a Tommy Castro CD..I suggest his CD "right as rain".....dynamite driving music/the louder the better
.....and "bell" turned me on to a relatively current/for me anyway, CD by a group called "Cracker" the 1st album with a can of sardines on the label..hard to describe/I'm a 60s-70s blues rock guy/hippy hair/shades..but this CD gets better every time I listen to it..it started on me as kind of new wave BS..but that didn't last for long..now "bell" is our audio pro and if he says it's good, that means it's worthy of consideration..I traveled around the US recently by myself and Cracker got 5-10 hrs a week from this guy..it became a drug that I needed at certain times/no $hit..anyway I dare anyone to try the Cracker CD that has the sardines in a can on the label..................Ron

Hmmm....so much out there. Sublime, The Hives and the Strokes if Im feeling a little rowdy, John Mayer (very god disc) when Im more mellow and Dave Brubeck or Miles Davis when Im groovin =) However, in the P car there is no radio so Im just jammin to that sweet flat 6. I wish I had it years ago

Music...like from a stereo? Nope, sorry.

My darling 3.2 is so F%^#*'n loud with the early 1st gen Borla, the stereo is completely redundant. But I like it and won't be changing a thing. In fact I'm thinking of removing the entire sound system, & save a pound or two!

If I want to listen to music, I'll jump into the wife's Lexus GS400.

Deliver me from piety

The symphony in 6-flat is the best, enhanced by the .8 bar cannonade as the wastegate releases exhaust directly to atmosphere; nothing like it, no doubt. Self-declared purists notwithstanding, I believe that music can take this experience to an even higher level.

For example, a great steak, which is artistry in itself (viva Peter Luger!), can be further enhanced with a great wine or bourbon. I can enjoy the steak all by itself, and I can enjoy the drink all by myself -- er, itself, but there is something synergistic about the combination. Ditto driving and music.

Lately I'll burn a "driving" disc full of mp3s every couple of weeks, and Dirty Vegas, Crystal Method, Charlatans and Jungle Brothers have been frequent inclusions recently -- and you can fit 110+ mp3s on a CD, so Buddy Guy and BB King often share space with Eminem and Chemical Brothers. Every CD, however, contains "Sweet Home Alabama."

In no particular order:

A short list - Professor Longhair, Dr. John, Beau Jocque, Buckwheat Zydeco, Buffalo Tom, The Mono Men, soundtrack to Rushmore, John Lee Hooker, Freddie King, Earl Hooker, Lightnin' Hopkins, Magic Sam, Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Filter, Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti, The Lime Spiders, Bo Diddley, and I feel a little weird saying that the new Elvis remix of "A Little Less Conversation" is pretty cool.

I find listening to music whilst driving distracts me, so I never have it on. As far as driving songs go, I only know 3:

1) Metallica - Fuel
2) The Doors - Roadhouse Blues
3) AC/DC - Highway to Hell

Hey Ron.. if you enjoy Tommy Castro.. check out Byan Lee or Son Seals.. both these cd's kick butt while driving, and then swith to Susan Tadeschi.... she's one cool singer and guitarist..
Now for me it's Johnny Winter, Pink Floyd, Marshall Tucker. Dickey Betts, Almond Bro's, Pat Traver's, and last but definately not least
SRV.. Better known as Stevie Ray Vaughn...
And crank it up Baby!!
