Door Ding

OK, if I want to remove a few dings myself, and can reach behind, what's the best method?

My driver's side door has 2 small dings, nothing major, but they annoy the hell out of me. Suggestions: rub from behind or live with it. How to rub from behind? Remove door panel, check. Possibly remove window glass (to change out felts at the same time) check. What next?

As I mentioned on the 'Attaching turbo emblem' thread, my fix-your-parking-lot-ding guy is great. I paid $100 for two nasty & annoying dings in places I thought were unreachable. The guy did a beautiful job.
They're getting popular in L.A. - look for them in your area. Check with dealerships for for referrals. Trust me, if dings drive you mad, it's worth it!

I am a hard-core DIY guy. But I leave the paintless dent removal to the pros.

These guys do miracles for not a lot of money.

Do they pull the door panel to do this? I am a DIY guy as well and frankly don't want anyone else pulling the panel or whatnot.

Can anyone advise?

Thumbs up

The work I've seen is 'slim jim' type. I don't think they like to tamper with anything, either.

Yep. these paintless dent removal guys will usually leave everything in tact and use very thin metal rods with different shaped ends to "massage" the dents out.
I've seen some of their work (before and after), it's amazing. Call your local Pcar mechanic or even the dealer. The Porsche dealer probably uses this service quite a bit because you can't tell the dent was ever there and they will come to your door to do repairs.
Kyle.
