G50 issue
I have a g50 in my -69, I bought it used and I could not test it before, but the price was OK.
I had it in the car for about a year now, there are issues. 1. It grinds going into 4th, but not in the usual way. The gear goes in nicely, but its like you can pull the shifter too far and then it grinds. If you are really careful and stop right when the gear engages it doesn't grind. 2. I can't engage 1st unless the car has come to a stop. No grinding, It just wont slip into 1st unless the car is standing still. No 1 feels like something in the box is misaligned/adjusted, can that be? No 2, what could that be, bad syncro? Would't that grind?

Have you looked at the shifter bushings?

Since its a 69, I had to do some modifcations, including a custom gear linkage.
But in a g50 the clever bits are in the box, not in the gear lever and linkage as with the 915. The slop in the linkage is a bit more than I would like, but its ok. I have thought about it, if it could be the problem, but I dont think it would manifest itself like the issues i have. |

How old is the slave cylinder and the hose that pushes the fork? Could be you're not getting 'all' the clutch. The hose tends to swell from the inside, restricting flow. I'd start there and bleed the slave.

New master, slave, hose, hardline, clutch, bearings, everything.
