A Trip to the Porsche Museum Yesterday

My wife and I drove down to the museum yesterday to link-up with friends later that evening. I used the PCA membership card and got the tickets 50% off at $4 each. Not a bad deal.

Thank you for the photos! I must go to the Porsche Museum one day... it has been on my list of places to go, but I haven't found the time to go to Europe yet..

I highly recommend the Mercedes museum even if you aren't into their cars. Mercedes museum is much bigger and more of a general transportation museum. Mercedes is like the GM of Stuttgart: cars, trucks, buses, etc.

Nice, interesting to see how they have moved things around since we were there in 2012. Did they have the 901 resto on display? And how does your wife manage to look elegant even posing beside a tractor??

The tracker picture was for her dad. His father had a Porsche tracker.
The red 901- second to last photo was the resto project. They had old parts on display to the right of the car.

D’oh, should have noticed the 901, my powers of observation are not always what they could be.

So what did you buy at the museum shop?

Was there in 2011; must see for any Porsche enthusiast. Also visit the Mercedes Benz Museum as well which is close by in Stuttgart. The BMW Welt in Munich and the Audi Museum in Ingolstadt is also worth a visit.

I was there in 2013, one day after picking up my Boxster S in Hanover. I asked the cute girl at the front desk if I could park out front an take a photo, since I had just become a Porsche owner for the first time the day before. She said "sure" and told the security guy to let me park as long as I liked. The dealership across the street is worth a walk through as well.

The slope is not slippery; in fact it is entirely frictionless.

Jeez, I should have thought of that. I had to pay for parking for my rental Panamera 4S.

Spectacular building, no? Did you dine at the cafe?

The building is amazing. I parked in the underground garage before moving out front. I seem to recall parking was free, but I honestly don't remember. I didn't try the cafe. I went through first thing in the morning before hitting the autobahn again, driving 700kms through Bavaria, Switzerland and Italy before meeting up with the wife who was at a conference about half an hour from Monaco. Where they were setting up for the grand prix and naturally that also required a once-in-a-lifetime pic... yes, thats my car on the course
