I Need Help Disassembling G50
The input shaft on my G50 snapped
i got as far as taking both the input and drive shaft out as an assembly together with the clamping / tension plate. i can't seem to figure out how to get them apart though. the workshop manual says to put each shaft on a press and pull the gears off. but it doesn't tell you how to separate the shafts from the plate. and i can't see a way to put the whole assembly on the press. the input shaft looks like it would come out if i take the 4 point bearing out but i can't see how i could possibly get a puller in there to pull from the back side. the manual says to put the entire shaft in the press and push the shaft down but i can't do this with the drive shaft and plate all as one piece. same with the drive shaft. although it makes sense that if i start pulling the gears in the opposite direction of the plate they should come off and i could then get the shaft out of the plate. i put a puller on the 1st gear (big gear) but it didn't budge and i didn't want to break it. any help is appreciated http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516077445.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516077445.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516077445.jpg |

Refer to page 34-109 of the factory manual. If the 1st gear "didn't budge", then your puller is probably too small and not suitable. |
It takes a pretty unique puller. Your run of the mill HF puller generally doesn’t work.
