Reuse Aged Wiring Harness?
My wiring harness in the 911T has no cuts or cracks. A bit stiff. I had to remove it for a ground-up restoration. Is there a method to soften it? like the heat gun? Could I re-use it?

Now is the perfect time to replace before you have problems. There is a guy on this forum that makes these - timmy2. Adding heat will only make the situation worse.

If you can get your hands on a new one, there are a few companies that make them, I would do it. The first part I sourced for my rotisserie restoration was a brand new, Porsche factory sealed bag, complete wiring harness for my '71 914-6. That makes life so much easier as you reassemble and get the car back on the road. 50-year-old wiring is just going to be problematic.

I had an engine fire due to old wiring in the '70. Dennis Powell (Timmy2) supplied all the new wiring some of which was custom. All high quality and perfect fit. Couldn't be happier with his work. He's USA and easy to deal with and a friendly guy. Highly recommend.

Walt is right on. Old wiring gets brittle, replace while its easy to do so.
