Rear center torsion tube splines how long ?

911 1976 Narrow Body

Just finishing off torsion tube repair and noticed that the inner center torsion tube splines do not overlap the torsion bar splines i.e. difficult to measure however, I have 40mm of splines to accommodate both bar ends, yet the combined spline length of the inner bar ends is 50mm. I would have normally expected them to be at least the same length or overlap as they do at the spring plate end.

Anybody have a diagram or picture of a cross section of the rear center splines/Spline carrier/boss ? again would be very helpful.

Is this correct ?

Anybody ? this is stopping me finishing the repair chaps, I know its a hard one, but you always come up with the goods :-)

It may not seem like a big deal but after the amount of time I have put into this repair I need to know every thing is correct and as it should be before I finish it off.
