Post Carmel, yuck or what???

There is a carmel color car that sounds pretty good in print. 79 targa, carmel over tan, 66k miles, top like new, tail, GT exhaust, short shift. Strong and tight.
OK I've never seen a carmel 911. Can't find any photos of one either. I don't want to even call on the car until I see a photo. The image in my head is not good.

Can anyone advise!?

Hey is this even a stock color? I've been searching the net pretty hard and can find no such color on a 78 or 79.

Anybody have info on this?

The possible suspects for a '79 might be:

Bitter Chocolate (408)
Moccha Brown (451)
Cashmire Beige (502)

I suspect it is cashmire, which I believe is the closest to "carmel". Kind of a flat tan color. I remember that California Cars had one about 5 months ago or so.

Thumbs up

A club member has a beige coloured car that looks like caramel...Here's a photo from the Rennsport reunion that shows a car that ois the same colour. I believe back in '66 they called it "sand".

There is a 79SC coupe in my area that sounds like the color you are describing. I've only seen one in this color, it's somewhere between sand beige and brown, cashmire might describe it. If it is the same one, I'd advise go see it. It's not a bad color. If you really want to check out the color before you see the car, ask the owner for the paint code (I think SC's have the code listed in the front trunk on a sticker..). Then take the code to your local auto paint supply place, that should help.

I have a 1973.5 911 with SEPIA BROWN paint. Its a carmel color and was a stock color on the 73 models. I have also heard it referred to as "baby pooh"! I have to admit, it took getting used to but grows on you because it truely is classic in color. Sepia Brown was Ferdinand Porsches favorite color and drove a 928 with that color. The local Porsche dealer here was explaining that amid the bright orange, electric blue, purple, ,lime green and other bright colors of the early 70's, the Sepia Brown was "tame" for its day.

I once received a humorous bit of advice regarding automobile purchases:

"The closer the color is to that of feces, the worse the resale value".

For what its worth....
