Hello Dave,

Nice build as usual......can you tell us more about the tungsten cerakote coatings and their benefits aside from obvious aesthetics. Did a quick google and looks like used quite a bit on hand guns.

Valve covers look great and also looks like used it on the tranny?

Thanks for sharing the build,

Jeff

Thanks for the support to all the pelicans that have chimed in it means a lot.

Cory here are a couple more shots of the harness, Dennis really does a nice job and it is custom to the car so there are no extra wires.

Really nice. Way cleaner and safer than the old factory wiring.

Another awesome looking build Dave. Love the color.
Happy/proud to be a contributor.
Can’t wait to see the car finished. :)

Is it a brand new harness Dave? or a cleaned up and sheathed original harness?

Looks great, a little worried about those seat belt attachment points on the tunnel. An impact will bend the heck out of the bracket, where these welded to the tunnel.

I'm digging it so far! Saw your hot rod build at Werks last year and loved it! I'm sure this build is going to be just as awesome.

Snapped this photo last year :D

Brand new harness, the only part that was not replaced was the under dash harness, the 3 plugs under the dash to the ignition and light switch that connect to the main chassis harness

Good to know, thanks.

What was used on the transmission case and aluminum parts. Are they painted or powder coated? The grey is very clean looking.

Thanks David!

Steel It, stainless steel paint from McMaster Carr about $27 a can in an aerosol container or in bulk and use a gun. The engine parts were cerakote, tungsten

Does the tungsten cerakote provide benefits other than aesthetics? A quick google search indicates it’s used on handguns. Curious as never heard it used on autos before.

Regards!

It is a pretty durable finish, tungsten is only a color not a more protective coating.

Looks great!

Cerakote also offers some heat resistance and is very chemical resistant too! I love Cerakote and am glad to see people using it more for automotive applications. I've got a set of headers cerakoted but haven't had a chance to install them yet.... gotta do it sometime soon!

Top notch job as usual Dave. Thanks for documenting your builds - it gives me more inspiration for my (slowwwwww) project!
