1972 911T Distributor Question

Hi All,

My 1972 911T came with a Bosch 0231184001 distributor. I've started taking the engine part for a full rebuild and cataloging all the parts. I plan to keep the engine stock and keeping the MFI. Based on Pelican searches, this appears to be a distributor for a 74+ 2.7L engine. The date stamp is 76.

Will this work for a 2.4, or am I better off finding the correct distributor. I believe the correct distributor is 0231169003, but not sure.

Thanks,
Dennis

It will run your motor, the advance might be different than it’s suposed to be but you’ll never notice it.
